Popcorn M&M’s: Buttery, crispy, chocolatey? Our REVIEW!

We have been searching the shelves of every local store to find the NEW Popcorn M&M’s released earlier this year. We finally got lucky at a local Walmart!

The new candy is supposed to basically be crispy M & M’s with a buttery popcorn shell.

We opened the bag and took a big, deep breath. The smell instantly brought back those feelings of being in a dark, cold movie theatre with over-priced, buttery popcorn tossed with a bag of M&M’s. Something we haven’t been able to enjoy since COVID-19.

We popped a few in our mouth and were surprised by the crunch, but also surprised by the lack of popcorn flavor. The chocolate was extremely overpowering. If you compare to regular crispy M&M’s, there is definitely a more buttery flavor to these but nothing exceptional. The buttery flavor is an aftertaste and doesn’t last long.

So, for now, we will stick to tossing our own M&M’s into a bag of popcorn.

Rating: Based on it being a “Popcorn” M&M 5/10, not bad, but nothing super special. If it weren’t touted as a popcorn M&M our rating would be higher.
